On October 27th, 2011, Yutong Hong Kong Ltd. and TCPS Company Limited signed a procurement contract for intelligent public transportation systems. As the equipment and system supplier, TCPS provided equipment and software of farecollection system, fleet management system and user information system for 1178 Yutong Buses and 13 BRT stations
in Caracas transit system (BUS CARACAS), including onboard equipment, control center, stations, recharge equipment,entrance control equipment, tickets, software, etc.On October 18th, 2013, TCPS once again delivered onboard equipment, onboard equipment, fare collection system software and fleet management system software for 2000 buses to the Venezuela.

 

In September 2014, TCPS delivered onboard equipment, back-office equipment, fare collection equipment, fare collection system software and fleet management system software for 1500 buses to the Venezuela and the system has fully upgraded to the National Transit Fare Collection, Fleet Monitoring & Management System in Venezuela.

Introduction to Venezuela Intelligent Public Transport System

In 2013, according to the planning of national public transportation system made by the ‘Ministry of Venezuela Transportation’, the Transbarca Public Transport Company officially launched the intelligent public transportation system in its capital city Barquisimeto, Lala state. The Venezuela’s president Maduro appeared at the opening ceremony and cut the ribbon to witness this unforgettable moment in the history, he was also interested to drive the bus for a personal experience.

Soon afterwards, the intelligent public transport system began to rapidly grow and develop in local bus companies in Venezuela. A modernized fare collection system has greatly improved the bus company’s income and changed the situation that the state-owned bus company was funded by the government.

 

The construction of intelligent dispatch & monitoring system has accelerated the working efficiency of the bus companies. It can carry out the supervision and management on the safe operation of the vehicles through the real-time monitoring system, ensure the safety of the passengers and drivers, provide more adequate data for problem analysis in the future.

Along with the development of the intelligent public transport system in Venezuela, the bus companies separately made a targeted routes / stops planning according to its local transportation condition. More routes were newly added, and service points used for card-selling and value recharge were built and put into operation, the final purpose is to bring convenience for passengers’ travel.

 

As of Apr. 2016, the intelligent public transport system has been opened in 17 cities in Venezuela , including Caracas, Barquisimeto, Maracaibo, Malakay, Cumaná, Puerto Cabello, Cojedes, Barinas, Táchira, etc; 2500 buses have been listed into this system; The total amount earning from the card selling & value recharge reached approx. 775 million Bolivar.
